The New Malediction Play Network: What’s Changing
by The Malediction Team
PLAY NETWORK ANNOUNCEMENT
Greetings, Seekers!
As you all know, we here at the Malediction team take feedback very seriously, and we are always looking for ways to improve. With that in mind, we have decided to launch our own Play Network.
By bringing the Play Network fully in-house, we will be able to respond more quickly to your feedback and continue improving the platform over time. There are several important changes we would like to address.
What’s new?
First and foremost, your new Play Network account will be fully integrated with your existing Malediction account, making it easier to access everything from one place.
We have also created a new Deckbuilder for players, along with a new event creation and organization system for Heralds and local game stores. Both systems will be integrated, making it easier for players to submit their decks and for tournament organizers to track attendance and manage pairings during events and game nights.
The Alternative Art cards currently available through the Rewards Store will also become prizes in upcoming Organized Play Kits, giving players another way to earn them through official events without relying on random rewards. These kits will also include additional items such as pins and an initiative token.
Last but not least, we have created a new Achievement System that rewards players for reaching specific milestones. These can be as simple as playing in your first official Malediction event or as challenging as playing in five events with a Primal Blood deck.
Six achievements will be available when the new Play Network launches, with more added as Malediction enters its next Season in 2027.
We know these changes may raise a few questions, so let’s address the main ones now.
What will change?
To migrate to the new Play Network, the current platform created in partnership with Carde.io will be deactivated.
Our goal in bringing the platform fully in-house is to respond more effectively to player feedback and continue improving the experience. This transition does not reflect any dissatisfaction or issues with Carde.io. We are extremely grateful for their partnership and support over the past two years.
What happens to my Malediction Points?
As we are changing how rewards are earned and redeemed, moving from Malediction Points to Achievements, your current Malediction Points will expire when the existing Play Network closes.
The current platform will be deactivated on August 23, one day before the new Play Network goes live.
We know that many players found it difficult to accumulate enough points through the previous system. Because of this, every player who already had at least one Malediction Point has received an additional 1,000 Malediction Points.
Remember that you must redeem all your points by August 23. Any remaining points will expire when the current platform is deactivated.
What happens to my currently saved decks?
Unfortunately, we were unable to migrate your saved decks to the new Play Network.
We recommend saving or copying your favorite deck lists so that you can recreate them on the new platform. Please do this before the current Play Network closes on August 23.
That’s it for today, Seekers.
Malediction continues to grow, and we hope to see you in the new Play Network.
See you on the battlefield,
The Malediction Team
