Seeker Overview – Vorendal, the Dreadheart
by Nicole Lobo
Lord Vorendal, the Queen of the Dead’s right hand, is a man shrouded in mystery. While most fallen are made to serve the living, Vorendal is no servant, but the unliving master of armies. Both the living and the fallen dread his marching orders.
Vorendal’s Legacy is the Heartlock, the hard, cold crystal heart residing in his chest that serves as an anchor for his necromantic presence.

Basic Concepts:
- The relentless march of the dead is very efficient at flooding the board and keeping the pressure through extra actions and damage spells.
- With plenty of tricks up his sleeve, the Dreadheart can keep his opponents’ offenses in check by draining them of their activations, reducing their strengths, or even refusing to go down through Persist.

Legacy tips and interactions:
- Vorendal is a powerful melee unit with Onslaught, which usually requires him to force an opponent engaging with him, or to charge a unit that cannot run away anymore. Attachments that grant him extra moves through Dash or Hit and Run allow him to attack far more aggressively.
- Although the main purpose of your damage-dealing spells is the extra actions they generate, spells like Forced March or Brutal Outburst are wonderful as they offer both an option to deal damage directly to an enemy or to improve the stats of one of your allies (for a price, of course).

Pitfalls:
- It might seem tempting to drown your opponents in dead bodies and extra attacks, burning through your efficient cards in a flash, but it might leave you without fuel for the late game, especially if your heavy hitters are defeated.
- When using Concealing terrain, units with Ambush can offer amazing mobility and surprise factor to catch opponents off guard. Do be mindful that they tend to be pretty fragile, and much of their damage potential might come from their ability to strike first, two factors which are greatly hampered when you don’t hold the initiative.
